A sigh of relief

So....The semester has officially ended for me! I can not even begin to describe how wonderful it is to have an entire month off. I am pretty sure I ended up with 3 A's and a B which I am pretty proud of. Even though I was stressed beyond reason sometimes, I really liked it overall. I have to say I am looking forward to next semester. I will be taking Intermediate Photography, computer graphics, fundamentals of imaging, and interpersonal communications. Not a hard load by any means. Well it is 5:46AM and I am off to work. Have a great day everyone!

My little goof ball

Yes..for my last assignment we had to do another portrait. I really wanted to take pictures of my nephew Colter but since my class is so late at night, I didn't want to mess with a little fussy baby so I did the next best thing...I took a big fussy baby, my husband Ben. Well he actually did very good and I really like how the pictures turned out.

This one is my favorite.

Now you may think that some of these don't show his true personality and that's why I had to include these.

I love my little evil goof ball!

She said OK

After seeing the pictures I had taken (post editing), Andi agreed to let me post them. She realized I had taken out a few umm...imperfections and was happy with the result. These aren't all of them but they are the best ones. I have to say I am really proud of myself. I think they are pretty dog gone cute! What do you think??

What I've been up to...

A lot actually. Projects and assignments from school are nonstop. If I'm not writing a 5 page research paper on solutions for divorce, I'm making a book cover, color wheel, or taking awesome pictures of my prego friend Andi. Yeah we had a portrait assignment and had to bring someone with us. First I took my friend Kristy, she is also pregnant. The pictures turned out really good. If only I knew how to better work my camera, I wouldn't have accidentally erased them. All. I cried. But good thing I have such a great friend like Andi. She came with me the next week because Kristy had to work. I wouldn't say she was eager, but she helped out nonetheless. I bet if you all ask her nicely, she'll let me post some of the pictures on here. They really turned out awesome. But since she hasn't okayed it yet I'll post these quite amusing pictures of my cat Shadow.
I actually bought this sweater for my dog Ozzy at Target. He is always so cold and shivering that I thought he'd like it. Wrong. After a half hour of getting it on him while he growled and snarled and snapped at me, it was to small. So what better to do than torture the cat with it. You can't really tell from the pictures but he was walking around backward trying to get out of it. Priceless. Well that's all I have time for now.
Don't forget to ask (beg) Andi to let me post some pics of her.

It's a good thing

that Ben works 3rd shift. I have come to the conclusion that is nearly impossible for me to fall asleep when it is the weekend and he is home. sleeping. at night. in my bed. I don't see how other people do it. Even if I do fall asleep, I can't ever STAY asleep when he is there. Of course this has no effect on him whatsoever. He actually sleeps BETTER when I'm with him. Just my luck. He's in there sound asleep as I speak (or well type I guess.) You'd think since we have a king size bed that I would be fine, but I'm not. He needs to get his own bed.....hmmm......not a bad idea. just kidding. Anyone have any idea how I could get over this???

Not so good

Last night was the first night in awhile that Ben and I actually got to spend some time together because of my hectic schedule. So we decided to watch Blades of Glory with Will Ferrell and it was pretty much awesome. Then Ben really wanted to make some home made chocolate chip cookies which I thought sounded yummy. Let me give you a little background on my cooking. It sucks. I always seem to mess up ANYTHING I make somehow. For example, for the 4th of July I made a homemade cheese cake and it came out soggy, messy, gross. Unless it comes in a box, I will mess it up. But I thought, "how could I possibly ruin chocolate chip cookies?" and besides, Ben (being the much better cook) was right there with me. So we got to cooking and all went fine....until the first batch came out of the oven. They looked like crap...literally....crap. We had no idea why they looked so gross until I took one more look at the recipe. It called for 2 and 1/4 cups of flour and I only put 1 1/4.... oops. Needless to say I felt like an absolute idiot. So we fixed the problem and finished the rest of them and they were all quite scrumptious.
SO....I've decided I need to start cooking more often then I do now....which is never, to get some practice. I want to be a good cook. So I will be trying new recipes and see how badly I can mess them up to. Hopefully I will get better at it.

A Pirate's Life For Me

At least that is the theme for my still life photo I had to do for school. So I've decided that since I never really have anything interesting to blog about I will start blogging more of my work. So if you like pictures, I will be having lots more! Here is the project I did for still life. Although it looks like it was shot outside on a nice sunny beach this was actually in a studio, I was pretty impressed with myself for having such a cool theme cause everyone else did boring things. I made them jealous though, I was even told that! So anyway here is my latest piece.

I must give credit to Ben of course, cause the pirate accessories were provided by him, but the idea was all mine, except the sand, my instructor actually just happened to have some in the studio and asked me if I wanted it. I think it adds a lot to it. Let me know what you all think! I up for any criticism anyone has.

Lost and Found

Well when we got to church today, I asked my neighbor (one of the animal contol officers) if he had seen my Ozzy anytime yesterday. He said that another guy picked him up and took him to the Police Station and they had the pound pick him up. I was so relieved, after worrying about im all night. So he brought him to us today and he is fine. It turns out he was probably only outside like 10 minutes before someone found him because the police station is literally right around the corner from our apartment. But he got his very own cage at the pound because Darrell said he was scared of the other dogs. He was probably just cold and shivering but who knows. But I hope he learned his lesson by having to spend the night in the doggie slammer!

On the Loose!

Yep that would be my dog Ozzy. He has run away from home today about 1 o'clock because our front door didn't latch when we closed it and he got out. I am pretty upset because I know he is not the brightest animal and cannot possibly find his way home, not to mention he is VERY cold natured and is probably shivering to death in the cool weather tonight. So if you all could be on the look out for this dog...

it would be very much appreciated. We live on the square so if you live or happen to be by the surrounding area please keep your eye out. Thank you!

My First Photo Shoot

Well I have been really busy as most of you know with working 35 hours a week AND going to school 2 days. I'm sorry I haven't blogged in awhile but I haven't had much to tell ya'll. But I decided to display some of my work, well work in progress. Our first assignment in my studio practices class was to light a subject (the freaky manikin) with only one light source (hint the freaky light effect) from many different angles. It had to be in black and white which makes them look even freakier. So I introduce to you Jill the freaky bald, naked and pointer fingerless manikin (you can't tell in these pics but her pointer finger is broke off)

I guess their not bad pictures, just kinda boring but I'm sure as the semester goes on they will get better. So that's what I have been doing at school in case any of you were interested.

What a Week!

I have been extrememly busy this week with school starting a new job. I worked 35 hours from Thursday to Sunday! You may be asking if I like my new job. The answer would be no. I LOVE it!!! Even though I've been working 11 hour days, it doesn't even seem like it. We get to have all sorts of fun there. First of all, it is REQUIRED to blow up balloons every day! How awesome! So Saturday we had a big blitz thing and had snacks and drinks and I got to go around Walmart and hand out balloons to little kids. They were so excited when they saw me coming....their faces would lght up and they'd be like "BALLOONS!" It is awesome. The best part is not having to smell like a big ol' sandwich when I get home. I am still learing about everything though. It is a lot to remember but I have three days of training this week in Evansville so I hope I will learn a bunch there.
Today was my day off so we went to my mom's for a Labor Day cookout. It was yummy. Then Ben and I went to Newburgh so I could test out my new camera a little more. I would post them but they aren't very interesting....I was basically just figuring out how to set my camera and all. I will post some pictures of my adorable nephew Colter though!

he looks fussy but he was only acting scared of me. I don't know why but some days he loves me and some days he's scared of me. It probably didn't help that I had a camera in his face.

He's listening intently on what Aunt Cassie is saying.

I guess he had a hard day cause he fell asleep before lunch was even ready. Isn't he cute!
So anyway, I love my new job, and school is going good so far. I need to go because I was so busy I haven't been able to read anyone's blog all week. I know that Andi and Perri have many posts I have missed. Talk to everyone sometime...I hope!

It's Official!

As of today I am no longer an employee of Subway...and it feels great! I had a good last day though, my boss got me good luck balloons and a big cookie cake which was very tasty! But now I am looking forward to my first day at the bank. Also today.....my camera came in the mail!!!!!!! I was in such a hurry to get it out and take pictures but the only subjects I had to torment were my animals of course. So here is what my camera can do:

this is my cat Chester....It's not the best picture of him, he looks like he's saying "just take the dang picture!" I take LOTS of pictures of him cause he's so cute.

This is Shadow. He never takes good pictures so I stopped trying...this is the best I can do with him.

And finally, my dog Ozzy...he always turns his head like this when you talk to him...it's hilarious. So anyway, I know these are not the best pictures and that's because I am still trying to figure out my camera...it's really confusing but I'll get the hang of it eventually!

The new addition to our family...

No I'm not pregnant....this is so much better! (at least I think so)

Yesterday I was in my basic photography class and my professor was going over the million supplies we need for the class when he added nonchalantly that we are REQUIRED to buy a digital camera for both this class and my other class, studio practices. And not just any digital camera, an SLR digital camera which run $400 at the least. So since I am being FORCED to buy one, I thought it'd be silly to buy the cheapest one when they will be outdated in just a year or so. I should go ahead and get a camera that will last me awhile so I don't have to buy another one as soon. So I did a little looking around online and settled on one that has great features and will last a LONG time...it's just a couple (hundred) more dollars than 400 but it is really really worth it. I ordered it online at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ which I strongly recommend if you need anything to do with photography. They are about the cheapest you'll find and all my photo professors buy from there too. So without further ado, I introduce to you my new baby:

It's a Canon EOS 30D, 8.2 megapixel.

I know, I know, it's beautiful. I can't wait till it gets here....I will be sharing my pictures with you all very soon. It's like waiting for a baby to be born....the anticipation is killing me. Well enough about my new toy, I'll let ya'll know when it gets here!

Not too bad

For my first day of school. I had English at 11 and it was pretty much just the basics today, getting the syllabus, first day lecture, you know, fun stuff. I think the professor is pretty nice but she seems like she will be tough, which I can handle....I'm pretty sure I've had worse. Anyway, my second class was my fundamentals of design. It was actually pretty fun. We played some pictionary, which I totally rocked at and won the winning point for my team(I know, I rock), and had to draw an object 30 different ways which was pretty challenging. Not to mention I already know three other people in that class, so I wasn't as nervous as I thought I'd be. So all in all it's all good so far, I still have two more classes on Wednesday and I think I'll enjoy them as well cause they are both photography classes. Well that's it for me, I'll let ya'll know how my other classes go on Wednesday.

News of Joy!

I would like to thank any and everyone who prayed about this job at woodForest Bank. I had an interview today and it went well then the regional manager called me at about 4:00 and officially offered me the job. I am beyond excited. Even though the pay is a little less, it is so worth it. I get to work in town and I get the hours I want. I am so excited that I only have to smell like nasty subway for 2 more weeks. I have already told my boss Mary that I am leaving and she couldn't have been more supportive and understanding. My first day will be the 30th. They said I have to go to a 3 day training and if they can't get it in Evansville, I will have to go to Indy for 3 days so I am hoping they get it in Evansville cause 3 days away from Ben is too long. I'm mainly excited that I get to dress nice for work...man...I need to get new clothes....hehe

I'm not left out...

of getting the horrible stomach virus from Hell. I woke up this morning with a terrible belly ache. I thought it would go away so I went on to work. I was there about 15 minutes before racing to the bathroom and puking my guts up. I had to wake for someone to get there at 10:30 before I could go home so I waited....in the bathroom. I have the "both ends" virus if you now what I mean. Well I can only pray it goes away fast cause I have a class at 6 tonight. for now I'll drink my magic tea and get some rest. To all of you out there who are spending the day in the bathroom as well(Sam, Mike, Meagan, Jacob...and more I'm sure) I will be praying for you too! I HATE being sick.

Friday, August 10, 2007

Fingers crossed!

I need everyone's prayers because a job oppurtunity has presented itself. I applied to the new bank in Walmart, Wood Forest, and they called me today for a phone interview and said they will call over the weekend to set up a formal interview for sometime next week. They have benefits and pay well and it would really help me out a lot. I am not going to get my hopes up too high but some prayers are deffinately appreciated. Isn't it funny how I just posted a blog saying how much I hate my job and today I get that call. I love you God!

It's been a few days

Since I last blogged. Mainly because every time I go to blog I realize my life is boring and nothing interesting has happened. So to my best effort I will try to make my last few days seem exciting.

Today is Andi's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My birthday present to her was watching Sophie last night while she and Jacob went out. Soph and I had a great time. We ate some Mickey D french fries, played with my dog Ozzy, threw stuff on the floor, you know, girly stuff. Afterwards she took a little nap. But she was so excited when mommy and daddy came back. We met them at the door and her face just lit up when she saw them. So sweet!

Work has been hell. Literally. I think that if I happened to go visit Satan in hell, it would be just another day at work for me. It feels like about 5,356 freakin degrees in there, customers are beyond rude, and co-workers are endlessly annoying. But fortunately for me school is starting soon which means less time at that God forsaken place. That is my venting for the day.

On to more exciting news, Ben and I decided to go to Brown County State Park up by Indy for our anniversary in October. Here are some pictures of what it will look like in the fall when we go:

It's so beautiful and I can't wait to spend some good alone time with Ben.

Ok well it's getting late so I guess I will be done blabbing now. Hope you enjoying wasting some time reading my blog.

A Few Ramblings..

A few weeks ago I registered for my classes at school. There was a big ordeal about my admissions that day so by the time I got to the room to pick my classes I was rushed. I realized later that I had a huge 4 hour gap between my first and second classes on BOTH Mondays and Wednesdays. At first I was irritated but then decided that I could use that time to study, read, do homework, ect. But then I started thinking and that's just WAY too much time to honestly, be doing nothing. So I called the office to see if I could change my 8am-9:15am class to the 11am-12:15am class. Unfortunately, the class was full but the lady said she could put me on the wait list and that I would be the first one one there and that was a good thing. I was a little agitated but told her to put me on there. Then I started checking everyday to see if I had got in. I never got my hopes up but still checked everyday. I went to look today and I actually got in! I was so excited. So now instead of getting up at 7am I can get up at 10am and instead of a 4hour gap, I only have a 45min gap. What a relief! Now I'm a happy camper.

Speaking of camping, that is what Ben and I are thinking about doing for our anniversary. I know it sounds off the wall, especially for an anniversary, but we don't have the money to go anywhere far away for real nice, and I have always liked camping and haven't been in years and Ben really wants to go. We might go somewhere called Clifty Falls, about 2 1/2 hours from here. I've never been but Ben says it's awesome. Now I am aware that it will be October and probably pretty chilly, but we will be prepared. It beats camping in the heat anyday. We will go for 2 nights and do things such as hike, fish....the usual camping package. Anyway, that's what we are planning. I better go, there are dishes waiting for me.....have a great night all!

A little late

I actually finished the Harry Potter book last night at about 10:30pm. Considering I had church and work to do,and how slow of a reader I am, I actually finished in good time . And I have to add that the book was perfect! Everything I had hoped it would be! But in case you haven read it I will not say anymore! And if you haven't read any of the Harry Potters, you have no idea what you are missing out on. Seriously, get the books and enjoy! Night all!

Waiting....

So as you all know, The last installment of Harry Potter came out at exactly midnight last night. Ben was there waiting in line at 11, while I was sleeping. Why was I sleeping and not anticipating this long awaited event? Well my lovely boss wanted me to work for her (7-11am) this morning and being the nice, helpful person I am I couldn't say no. So due to the fact that he had to wait in line for an hour, at 11pm with only 2 hours of sleep, he gets to read it first, so I must wait. Have I mentioned how impatient of a person I am??? Well I'm only writing now because I have nothing else to do but wait. If I hadn't been so nice, I'd be reading it right now...

Hairspray?

So I got to spend some quality time with my mom today. She really wanted to see Hairspray and she hadn't got to see the last few movies she wanted to in theaters so I told her I'd go with her. I must say I was a little skeptical. I mean seeing John Travolta in drag was not at the top of my list. But I was completely won over. It was very good actually. Fun to watch AND funny. So if you like musicals and were debating about whether you'd like it or not, my thought is go for it! You'll enjoy it!

Also the time I got to spend with my mom was nice. We don't get to hang out a whole lot so I really enjoyed it. Not to mention the ribs we had at Shyler's afterward. mmmm... They were probably better than the movie but come on, ribs are hard to beat. So, point of this post: Hairspray, go see it! and thanks for the good time and ribs mom, I love you!

I'm new at this...

I'm not sure if this whole blogging thing is for me but I thought I'd give it a try! So Here I am, writing a blog! Woo Hoo! Ha Ha.
Anywho, for all you who care, I finally got my classes finalized for school. My schedule looks something like this:

Mondays:
8:00-9:15am- English composition
1:00- 4:50pm- Studio practices
Wednesdays:
8:00-9:15am- English composition
1:00-4:50pm- Basic photography
6:00-9:50pm- Fundamentals of design

Which really isn't too bad except for the 4 hour gap in the mornings...reading/homework time i guess. I also have to take a 1 credit hour class the 5 days before schools starts. It's something about life skills but it's mandatory! So yeah, I'm totally excited about finally going back to school and doing something I really enjoy. Hopefully when I start I can find a decent photography job somewhere, just till I graduate.
Well that's it for me tonight. Thanks for reading! Have a great day all!!!
