Spring is coming!

We went to the park yesterday to soak up the beautiful sunshine. I didn't get many pictures but here's Amelia in her adorable sun hat.

She LOVES going for walks in her stroller. She loves being outside period. She just looks around and is the happiest baby in the world. I can't wait for summer!!

And who else loves walks??

Yep. Cyrus. Notice the mud? He also loves running through the ditch behind our house after the walk....

and getting hosed off afterward. He's crazy and I love him.

I'm ready for spring to be here for good so we can have more walks...

Lilly

Last week Lilly got fixed and of course, it didn't slow her down for even a fraction of a moment. But yesterday her incision did not look so good....kinda swollen and the staples were ripping her skin and grossness was all around. Well though it didn't seem to affect her at all, I thought I'd call the vet to make sure. I told them everything and they said to bring her in to be looked at. I had to just drop her off cause they didn't have any appointments and the vet would look at here when she got a chance. Well about 15 minutes later they called. They said everything looked OK (it did NOT look ok to me, just ask Trin) but I trusted them.

They said to put Neosporin on it and that she would get an Eco (I think that's what they called it ) Collar so she doesn't lick it. Yes it is one of those funnel looking things. She looks so pathetic with it on but it's only for a week until she gets her staples removed. I don't have a picture of that yet but here is some of her and Cyrus from the other day.

Sitting pretty
And then she eats his face..
I love these dogs!

Lilly and fasting Day 2

I don't think I ever posted about my puppy that I got. I had been wanting another dog for Cyrus for a long time and I knew I wanted a boxer (cause that's what Cyrus is a mix with.) But we could never find a cheap pure bred boxer. That is until one day Ben found an ad for some very cheap ones. So I called and the next day we drove 2 hours to go pick her up. She was the runt and the only girl left so I just had to have her. My early Christmas present.

That was about 2 months ago. I would post pictures but I'm a slacker and forgot to bring them with me to work to upload them but believe me she is the cutest darn thing you will ever see. She is also the meanest. She is only about 20lbs right now but she has full authority and control over Cyrus (who is 80 lbs.) Don't get me wrong she loves to cuddle too but she is in full puppy mode still and full of spunk.

Tomorrow she gets fixed. I am sad that she has to go through it but I know it is necessary. Cyrus also gets to go to the vet to get his shots, so tomorrow morning should be interesting. I am making Ben go with me cause there is no way I could handle them on my own let alone if there are any other dogs there (Cyrus insists on being friends with every dog he sees)

As for fasting, well....I will be honest and say it is freaking hard. Ben got really sick last night and couldn't go to either of his jobs and I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and was incredibly shaky. Since Trin is doing this with me, we decided that since Pastor Aaron said we could split it up any way we want we decided it would be best to do one day of just water once a week. So I had an apple this morning and it was awesome. I feel 100% better. I will still be following the guidelines for the Daniel Fast for 21 days. I can honestly say that I can already feel God moving in my life. If it's only day 2, I can't wait to see where I'm at on day 21.

Silly boy

So here I am again. posting. That's twice in a little over a week. thanks.

School starts one month from today. I'm getting less and less excited. I'm not excited about spending more in gas to drive to and from Ivy Tech. But it's only once a week this time cause I'm taking more online classes. Hopefully I don't overload myself with projects. I just keep telling myself that after this semester I only have two more. Yes!

My job at the bank is going great. Who would have thought that you actually CAN love your job?

I took my dog Cyrus to my friend Megan's house last night. She has a black lab named Sadie and her and Cyrus are good friends. They played, and played, and played, and played, and just when you thought they were winding down, they were chasing each other again. I seriously think they would never stop playing, they would just fall over and die. Megan and I were friends in school and don't get to see each other often so it was fun to just hang out and let the "kids" play. We had to call it a night when Cyrus started bleeding from what looked like a carpet burn. He didn't even care he had it but that's coming from the dog that got hit by a truck and was still running around like "what happened?" Silly boy...

Well that's all I got for now. Have a great weekend!

Our Family

So I was bored and wanted to take pictures but didn't know what to photograph. Then I decided to take pictures of the only thing around, our children. Cyrus and Ozzy cooperated quite well, the cats.....not so much but I did the best I could. So here is our (not quite so) little family.

This is Cyrus, the newest edition to the family. We adopted him from the humane society a little over amonth ago. He is a boxer mix and a year and a half old. He's a big baby and sometimes a trouble (and mess) maker but I still love him. Just look at those big puppy dog eyes, how could you not love him?

This is Ozzy. He was originally my mom and dad's dog but they had to move in with my grandpa who already had a dog who wouldn't get along with Ozzy. My brother took him for a couple of months but he didn't do very well over there so that's how he ended up with us. He is a chihuahua mix and very temperamental. He is about 7 years old. Though he has an attitude bigger than he is, I love him too.

Shadow is about 6. We got him from Ben's sister Trin because as she and her husband Gabe were going on their 4th child, he made her get rid of him. I don't think he is all right in the head but he is very affectionate. Even though he is not all there, I love him.
Then there is Chester. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be him. I found him at Ben's mom's house outside when he was just a kitten. He is now about 2 and my little buddy. He is somewhat shy but very loving and sweet. What can I say....I love him.
There, now you have all met the animals who are basically our children and will comtinue to be for a very very long time.

New Love

So I went to get my books for school today and on the way back I thought I'd stop at the Humane Society to see if they had any dogs I'd like. I really didn't think they would because they never do but today my luck changed.

Ben and I have been kind of looking for a dog lately but have come up empty handed. Well today was the day.

As I was walking through the kennel looking at all the dogs, I stopped in my tracks. There sat a dog, while all the others were howling and barking, sweet and quiet and sad looking. Teddy was his name. I immediately asked if I could get him out. I walked him around and asked about him. The lady said he had just been brought back after being adopted because the person didn't have enough time for him. This made my heart sink. I asked how much he was and she said since he had been paid for once, we could have him for only $25. What else could I have asked for??? I told her I had to talk to Ben and we might be back.

Then I took a deep breath and drove home thinking about how I would ask Ben if I could have this HUGE dog.

Ben is not much for dogs and I thought for sure he'd say something along the lines of "We don't have room for a big dog" or "I don't really want a dog now". But still I went home with high hopes.

I talked to Ben and explained everything and he agreed to go look at him. We took Ozzy to see how they would get along.

Needless to say Ozzy fell in love as did Ben once we got there. We let them play for a while and they got along GREAT. Teddy was very gentle and calm. So we asked the lady for some time to talk about it.

After about 20 minutes of pondering the pros and cons Ben finally said OK! I jumped up and down. I finally got the big dog I always wanted.

Now even though he was named Tedy and that fits him very well because he is very cuddly, I didn't like that name. We got home and thought of what WE wanted to name him and came up with Cyrus. I think it fits him just as well but is more us.

So without further ado meet our new baby Cyrus. He is 1 and 1/2 and is very very good. He already knows "no" ,"sit" and, "lay down". In other terms , he is perfect!

and he says he doesn't like dogs.
All wore out!
Well all I have to say is I pretty much love this dog.

What I've been up to...

A lot actually. Projects and assignments from school are nonstop. If I'm not writing a 5 page research paper on solutions for divorce, I'm making a book cover, color wheel, or taking awesome pictures of my prego friend Andi. Yeah we had a portrait assignment and had to bring someone with us. First I took my friend Kristy, she is also pregnant. The pictures turned out really good. If only I knew how to better work my camera, I wouldn't have accidentally erased them. All. I cried. But good thing I have such a great friend like Andi. She came with me the next week because Kristy had to work. I wouldn't say she was eager, but she helped out nonetheless. I bet if you all ask her nicely, she'll let me post some of the pictures on here. They really turned out awesome. But since she hasn't okayed it yet I'll post these quite amusing pictures of my cat Shadow.
I actually bought this sweater for my dog Ozzy at Target. He is always so cold and shivering that I thought he'd like it. Wrong. After a half hour of getting it on him while he growled and snarled and snapped at me, it was to small. So what better to do than torture the cat with it. You can't really tell from the pictures but he was walking around backward trying to get out of it. Priceless. Well that's all I have time for now.
Don't forget to ask (beg) Andi to let me post some pics of her.

Lost and Found

Well when we got to church today, I asked my neighbor (one of the animal contol officers) if he had seen my Ozzy anytime yesterday. He said that another guy picked him up and took him to the Police Station and they had the pound pick him up. I was so relieved, after worrying about im all night. So he brought him to us today and he is fine. It turns out he was probably only outside like 10 minutes before someone found him because the police station is literally right around the corner from our apartment. But he got his very own cage at the pound because Darrell said he was scared of the other dogs. He was probably just cold and shivering but who knows. But I hope he learned his lesson by having to spend the night in the doggie slammer!

On the Loose!

Yep that would be my dog Ozzy. He has run away from home today about 1 o'clock because our front door didn't latch when we closed it and he got out. I am pretty upset because I know he is not the brightest animal and cannot possibly find his way home, not to mention he is VERY cold natured and is probably shivering to death in the cool weather tonight. So if you all could be on the look out for this dog...

it would be very much appreciated. We live on the square so if you live or happen to be by the surrounding area please keep your eye out. Thank you!

It's Official!

As of today I am no longer an employee of Subway...and it feels great! I had a good last day though, my boss got me good luck balloons and a big cookie cake which was very tasty! But now I am looking forward to my first day at the bank. Also today.....my camera came in the mail!!!!!!! I was in such a hurry to get it out and take pictures but the only subjects I had to torment were my animals of course. So here is what my camera can do:

this is my cat Chester....It's not the best picture of him, he looks like he's saying "just take the dang picture!" I take LOTS of pictures of him cause he's so cute.

This is Shadow. He never takes good pictures so I stopped trying...this is the best I can do with him.

And finally, my dog Ozzy...he always turns his head like this when you talk to him...it's hilarious. So anyway, I know these are not the best pictures and that's because I am still trying to figure out my camera...it's really confusing but I'll get the hang of it eventually!
